Nice July Weather Low Humidity Continues Today

But Heat Humidity Returns Late Week

The Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states continue to enjoy nice dry conditions. Low humidity, sunshine and pleasant temperatures Monday saw temperatures that topped out in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Today we will see temperatures nudge a little higher to a range of 80 to 85 however dew points remain in the low to mid 50s so it will be quite comfortable. Look for lots of sunshine and no showers or thunderstorms are around as the radars remain nice and quiet.

WEATHER RADAR

We will see clear skies tonight with most lows in the 60s urban areas and coast while coolest areas inland will be in the mid to upper 50s. Wednesday we will see plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will nudge a little higher to the middle and upper 80s but dew points will stay reasonable for one more day. Temperatures will be a little cooler at the beaches with local sea breezes developing. Also it will be a good weather day for those of you travelling for the 4th of July holiday.

Thursday is Independence Day and it will be the first day this week where humidity levels will rise to uncomfortable levels. We will see dew points rise to the mid 60s to near 70. We will also see sunshine take temperatures to the upper 80s and lower 90s for afternoon highs. As far as thunderstorms are concerned, the chances for a storm are very low, if at all. At worst there might be an isolated shower or thunderstorm well inland.

Heat and humidity will continue Friday and into the weekend and while highs will reach the upper 80s and lower 90s Friday afternoon as well as Saturday, we don’t see the temperatures going any higher. Humidity will be high and there will be the chance for some scattered thunderstorms running around Friday. Saturday will see a weak front and upper trough approaching and that will open the door to a higher chance for thunderstorms later Saturday into Saturday night.

There could be some severe weather risk with this system and we will be taking a look at this in the coming days. Sunday we will see clouds and some sun with highs in the upper 80s to around or just over 90 degrees in spots and there is the chance for a lingering scattered shower or thunderstorm. It appears that next week we will see increasing chances for thunderstorms as very warm to hot air covers much of the Eastern US.
